The Opera Garnier, located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and the landscape of the French capital. Located at the end of the Avenue de l’Opéra, near the metro station of the same name, the building has become a typical monument of architecture and style eclectic historicism of the second half of the nineteenth century and continues the transformation of Paris carried out by Napoleon III and the prefect Haussmann.
The Opera Garnier was built under the Second Empire on the occasion of the transformations of the capital led by Baron Haussmann. The Opera House was inaugurated January 15, 1875 by President MacMahon. With the commissioning of the Opera Bastille, the Opera Garnier continues to present operas and was renamed the Palace of dance.
